The international Greek perfumer and creator of the first specialized perfume blog in Greece, George Papachatzis brings you from the laboratory of the Greek perfumery JOUR NAPER the hottest secrets to make your perfume last even longer on your skin!

Why doesn’t the perfume last on me? Is there any way to make it last longer? Are there do’s and don’ts in how we wear our perfume? The answer is a big YES! There really are tips and little tricks to make your perfume last even longer, as long as you apply them and learn how to wear it correctly.
Not a week goes by that we don’t receive mails from you asking us secrets on how to make your perfume last longer or why the same perfume that lasts an hour on your skin lasts six hours on your friend’s skin? The truth is that there are certain “rules” about how to wear your perfume.
1. Wear dry body oil
You’ve probably heard that “perfumes love oily skin”, so they love oily skin as well. That’s why there is no better secret than to apply a dry oil on your body, preferably jojoba oil (it has excellent absorption capacity without leaving a trace of greasiness on your skin) before spraying your perfume.
2. Don’t forget the body cream
If you are not a fan of dry oils then apply a lotion or body cream all over your body and hands and then spray your favourite fragrance. But be careful! The body lotion or body cream should be odourless otherwise if it smells different from your perfume, then it will inevitably alter the smell of your perfume itself. Ideally, you should apply a cream enriched with the fragrance of your favourite perfume because this will double the effect (e.g. Nychta body cream and Nychta byJour Naper Perfumes). Then spray with your perfume and ready to go!

3. Spray your perfume after the bath
Immediately after a hot bath, the pores of the skin are opened by the steam and this is the best time to spray your perfume, since the open pores will “lock” the perfume molecules in them, thus giving your perfume even more duration on your skin.
4. Spray your perfume not only in the most unusual places
Apart from the classic places where you should spray a perfume or a cologne, which are known to be places where there is a high concentration of blood and therefore temperature, another secret to make your favorite perfume last longer on your skin is to spray it in unusual places. And what’s the secret? Spray the perfume on the back of your neck, a spot that does not have the same temperature as the rest of your skin, so the evaporation of the perfume will be slower, which ensures a longer “hold” of the perfume.
5. Be sure to spray on these 2 points
There are two points that many people ignore but they are the big secret that we perfumers recommend. And this is none other than our clothes, thanks to their ability to absorb perfumes very well (especially cotton and woolen clothes), and secondly our hair, as they also have a high absorption capacity. However, in both cases, spray the perfume from a distance of 15 cm.
